A: There are no paid employees of the MMFF. The MMFF has extremely low overhead and fundraising expenses. Based on the formula used for calculating overhead and fundraising expenses, 95% to 97% of every dollar goes to help service members and their families.
Q: How does a military family apply for assistance?
A: Military families get financial assistance by contacting one of the federally-funded Soldier and Family Readiness Centers at 14 locations around the state. The Soldier and Family Readiness Centers can be reached at 1-888-234-1274. The Soldier and Family Readiness Centers serve any branch of service whether active duty, National Guard, or reserve.

A: You can send a check payable to “MMFF” to Minnesota Military Family Foundation, 620 Mendelssohn Ave N, Golden Valley, MN 55427. Credit card donations are accepted via PayPal at www.minnesotamilitaryfamilyfoundation.org.

A: The MMFF is focused on providing assistance to any currently serving military member or their families..
Q: How does the MMFF determine who will receive help?
A: Once the need for financial assistance is verified by the Solder and Family Readiness Centers, the request is forwarded to the MMFF for action. Each MMFF board member reviews the request. If a majority of board members approve the request, the Soldier and Family Readiness Center is notified of the action and the funds are released. Over 99% of requests have been approved.
Q: How long does it take to get approval for a grant?
A: Since the MMFF board members vote electronically, requests can be approved as quickly as a couple hours, once the requests are received from the Soldier and Family Readiness Centers.
